In this talk, we'll discuss all of the necessary pieces of a highly available PostgreSQL system, why each is a necessary component, and what happens if something is omitted. How many servers? Where should WAL files go? How should we organize backup files? What configuration settings facilitate all of this? Do I need another data center? All of these questions are answered, along with quite a few more.
