Postgres can be combined with the Pacemaker cluster management software to achieve maximum availability. In this talk we begin with the rationale behind automated promotion of a hot-standby and why it's not actually terrifying in production. From there we explore the configuration necessary for a simple Pacemaker set-up and move on to more advanced techniques.
