What does a dairy in southern New Mexico, military school, sport bikes, jeeping, scalable databases and marketing all mean when mixed together? They mean Richard Silva. Richard, born in California and raised in the deserts of southeaster New Mexico by a working class father and his dairy. This experience taught him the value of a hard work, the effort it takes to move thousands of gallons of milk, and the importance of rubber boots. He carried this knowledge through to New Mexico Military Institute (NMM) where he was top of his class in computer programming, and began to learn more about how computers, databases, and general electronics really worked.
Fast forward to present day, and Richard, now located in the North Dallas area, is a owner of a Motorcycle Parts and Accessories liquidation company, and leader for the ETL practice and Javelin Agency. Javelin is a unique advertising and marketing agency, in that half of their employees, revenue and focus is on econometric analytics. The really deep and heavy kind of analytics. The kind that demands the best solid database platform in the world (Postgres!).
Currently Richard utilizes his knowledge and experience to lead a unique ETL team that manages thousands of unique data feeds, billions of rows of data, and some of the most demanding clients in the world.
In his spare time, Richard also loves to tinker with bleeding edge tech like 3D printers, RaspberryPI’s, and Arduino's – always looking for new ways to connect the analog and digital worlds.
