Burak is currently a software developer at Microsoft, developing Hyperscale (Citus)(@citusdata) and working on scaling out PostgreSQL. Before that he was part of the SAP team which developed SAP's in-memory distributed database system, Vora.
He is also the maintainer of postgresql-hll extension, which allows counting unique elements in your database quick and memory-efficient manner.
In the past, he spent time on wide variety of projects from translating Ubuntu to building robots. He is interested in distributed systems, robotics and machine learning.
