Gary Evans is a Global Lead for Fujitsu's Database Centre of Excellence, responsible for strategy and execution of technical pre-sales, consulting, and support capabilities around PostgreSQL and enterprise databases. He leads a globally distributed team that supports complex customer engagements and delivers consulting and support at scale.

With over 30 years in the industry, Gary's career began in C/C++ and enterprise systems work at the Inland Revenue Department of New Zealand, IBM, and Cable & Wireless in London. He joined Fujitsu as a developer on an object-oriented database platform, building an XML class library that drew him into the database domain, where he has remained since.

Based in Australia, Gary helps organise PGDownUnder and participates in FOSSASIA and various PGDay events. He also serves on the PostgreSQL Community Code of Conduct Committee.
