Gabriele Bartolini is a long-standing open-source advocate and developer specialising in the intersection of cloud-native infrastructure and data sovereignty. A PostgreSQL contributor since the early 2000s, he has spent over two decades bridging the gap between traditional database administration and modern DevOps culture.
Currently leading the Cloud Native initiative at EDB, Gabriele is a co-founder and maintainer of the CloudNativePG and Barman projects. His work focuses on empowering organisations to run mission-critical, stateful workloads on Kubernetes while maintaining full operational independence and portability.
As a Data on Kubernetes (DoK) Ambassador, Gabriele is a frequent speaker at global Postgres and CNCF events. He holds a degree in Statistics from the University of Florence and is dedicated to fostering a community where users can modernise their data stacks without compromising on reliability or vendor neutrality.
