With over two decades of professional software development experience, and more than a decade working with PostgreSQL, Hamid has contributed to various aspects of the database. His work includes managing the official PostgreSQL installers, developing in-memory database extensions for PostgreSQL, performance tuning, development of the observability extension (pg_stat_monitor), and working on ORC FDW. Currently, as a Principal Software Engineer at pgEdge, Hamid is contributing to the development of the Spock extension, which enables active-active logical replication for PostgreSQL. Spock is a significant step towards providing conflict-free replicated data and exception logging.
