Security in your database needs to be handled at quite a few different levels, from individual users, to in transit calls, and the server and storage itself. This talk is a high level introductory overview of security topics and best practices in Postgres. We’ll start with security and roles inside your database, including row level security. Next, we’ll review security for the machines on different deployment methods including Kuberentes and Cloud. Of course, we will review security for the Postgres code itself and how CVEs are addressed. Next time you have assessment boxes to check or the CEO calls you in to ask about how secure your database is, you’ll be ready to answer the tough questions.
