Muhammad Usama is major contributor and committer for the Pgpool-II open-source project and has contributed to many performances and high availability-related features. He has 20 years of professional software development experience and has been involved with PostgreSQL since 2006. Before coming to open source development, Usama was doing software design and development with the main focus on system-level embedded development. After joining EnterpriseDB in 2006, he started his career in open-source development, specifically in PostgreSQL and Pgpool-II. At HighGo Software, he was one of the leading PostgreSQL architects and spearheaded the IvorySQL (Oracle-compatible open-source PostgreSQL) project. He is currently working at Percona and contributing towards the community and Percona's PostgreSQL offering.
