PostgreSQL has many use cases for business. In this talk, I will discuss how Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc., a franchise of about 35 staff and 200 real estate agents has leveraged Postgresql to allow our business to grow without needing additional staff or expensive license fees. I'll cover some of the reasons we chose PostgreSQL and how we use PostgreSQL. I'll also include some tips for small businesses and those working with real estate data that we've learned including picking the best hardware on a shoestring budget, ways to increase performance on searching text fields with specific indexes, and how we handle backups.
