Henrietta Dombrovskaya (currently an Associate Director of DB at Braviant holding, Chicago IL) is a database researcher and developer with over 30 years of academic and industrial experience. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Saint Petersburg, Russia. She taught Database and Transaction theory at the University of Saint - Petersburg (Russia), at the Computer Systems Institute in Skokie, IL and at Spherion Consulting in Chicago, as well as multiple database tuning classes for both beginners and advanced professional.
Her professional experience includes consulting for a number of government projects in Chicago and New York and providing IT and Data services in the financial sector, manufacturing, and distribution. She is a co-author, with B. Novikov, of the book "System Tuning", BHV, S.-Petersburg, Russia. Her researches in overcoming object-relational impedance mismatch were published in the Proceedings of EDBT 2014 Athens, Greece and ICDE 2016 Helsinki, Finland.
Henrietta is very active in the PostgreSQL community. Starting from January 2017 she leads Chicago Postgres User Group and she regularly talks at the PostgreSQL conferences. For the past three years, she is focused on the development of the pg_bitemporal project, which supports two-dimensional time in PostgreSQL. She has also developed a new technology of communications between applications and databases, which is successfully implemented at Braviant Holdings.
